“It's been a decade-long dream to build a custom, studio pool for my underwater photography business. After working in many different types of pools in Texas and even around the world, I had a good idea of what I wanted for my own pool. I knew there was one company I could not only trust with my vision, but also take my vision and improve upon it – Modern. I met owners Jan and Keli back in 2012 when I photographed them in the most incredible backyard pool I've ever seen, to this day, that they designed and built. Seeing the quality of work they've done over the years since, my partner and I were eager to start the design process with them on our own pool this year.

From the start, we knew we were in good hands. The designer met with us on site to talk through our vision and answer the lengthy list of questions we had. We expressed our desires for a multi-purpose pool – a studio pool to work in but also one we could enjoy at home and for entertainment.

When the Modern team presented the initial design just weeks later, we were blown away by their presentation! They took all of our musts, wants and wishes and showed us a design that exceeded our expectations. They came up with creative solutions for my studio needs and designed a beautiful oasis perfect for entertaining.

The renderings showed us every angle of the pool and landscaping, even underwater views, which was incredibly helpful for me to visualize the space I would be working in. They also showed views of the sun and shade on the pool at various times of the day which is also valuable information to me as a photographer.

I am so glad we worked with them on this process and can now confidently move forward with building our dream pool. Their ability to take our vision and turn it into a detailed, well-thought-out design was impressive and exactly what we were looking for.
